Dear Reader,

Welcome to MiNT Magazine’s Fall 2021 Edition, “Retrograde”. In science, Retrograde refers to the planets in orbit and the perceived backward tracking of Mercury or Venus as simply an optical illusion of our perspective on Earth. Perhaps this title resonated with us here at MiNT because it reflected the motions of life today. Covid has been a constant back and forth, and we perceive this magazine as a resistance to the limitations COVID has placed on us as an organization.

This Magazine in its physical form not only stands as a testament to the industriousness and persistence of a dedicated student body but simultaneously as evidence of a forwards movement in a time where everything seems backward. In pieces like ‘Something More,’ we envision our “longest leg towards the terminal” of the future. In which seemingly small successes such as producing a physical copy of a college magazine can show as proof of patience and dedication in spite of all the obstacles presented.

A large thank you to the support from submissions. Without your contribution, this magazine would be a mere collection of blank pages. Thank you, also, to the team of MiNT Magazine, those of whom work endlessly to uphold a creative outlet on this campus. And last but not least, a thank you to our readership for your support.

     Cassandra Pepe, Editor-in-Chief
